Purpose

Quantum Edge is a unique team of mastery coaches to leaders. We help corporate executives transform themselves and create caring cultures that successfully sail the winds of global business.

As personal advisors to senior executives, we conduct a collaborative inquiry into the spirit of each organization's leadership. Through a customized coaching relationship, executives and their leadership teams develop extraordinary vision and mastery of the energy of change.

Quantum Edge Principals

Christopher Thorsen - Quantum Edge

As founder of Quantum Edge, Chris has advised senior executives for over 35 years. He has helped CXOs of industry leading communications and technology companies grow their companies exponentially, he’s helped leaders of old line utility companies revitalize their moribund cultures, and he’s helped directors of international policy institutes establish their global presence.

Chris has provided development coaching to executives and their teams leading organizational transformations at Disney World, Lucent Technologies, Kaiser Permanente and Unocal. He helped build the wireless industry, spending twelve years as an integral member of the executive teams that started and operated Cellular One and Nextel Communications.

In the late nineties, Chris spent five years providing periodic Aikido/Conflict Resolution Seminars for policy leaders from the Turkish and Greek factions on the war torn Island of Cyprus. He was a Founding Consultant of Interaction Associates, the internationally known facilitation and training firm. He has a Masters Degree from the University of San Francisco in Community Organization and OD and is a contributor to The Dance of Change, the Fifth Discipline Resource Book.

Chris is a pioneer in the application of Aikido and Dialogue principles to leadership mastery, team synergy and organizational strategy. He has studied and taught Aikido for thirty years.

 

Barry Smith - Core Dialogue

Barry has worked as a consultant in leadership development, team effectiveness, and organizational dynamics since 1990. His approach utilizes critical language skills, living systems theory, as well as principles of the martial art of Aikido. He has worked in consultation with both profit and non-profit organizations as well as with higher education institutions. Barry has 30 years experience in mediation and conflict resolution.

Barry is a Certified Mediator and holds a 2^nd degree black belt in Aikido. He has completed intensive training in Transpersonal Psychology as well as years of national and international training in “Non-Violent Communication”. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from the New College of California.

• Coached the President and Senior Staff of a major college on leadership and team effectiveness.

• Worked extensively with executive teams of a major health care organization on organizational alignment, innovation and collaboration.

• Taught leadership seminars at several university and leadership programs.

• Is an adjunct faculty member of JFK University, Graduate School of Psychology.

Barry is an experienced white water wilderness guide and is a father of three children.

He lives with his family in Pt. Reyes Station, CA.

Richard Moon - The Listening Institute

Richard Moon joined Quantum Edge in 1985 and is now the senior partner. He has provided executive coaching, mastery training and facilitation of strategic business development in a wide variety of corporate settings. As a trained mediator using Aikido as a dynamic approach to creative conflict resolution, he practices commercial, corporate and relational mediation.

Richard has led the international peace building effort for Quantum Edge. Under the auspices of The Institute for Multi-track Diplomacy he has provided Mastery Training and Dialogue Facilitation to leaders on the island of Cyprus and in Bosnia.

Richard has given hundreds of Change Mastery Presentations to organizations. He has studied and taught Aikido for over 30 years and holds a fifth degree black belt in the art.
